Naan or Nan

Naan or Nan is a flattened bread like stuff baked in the oven. It is often prepared in different methods in almost all areas. Naan or Nan  is a Persian word meaning baked and it comes from that Persian word. Naan or Nan is popular in West, Central and South Asia and is more commonly prepared in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh and its surrounding parts.
Naan or Nan  is also seen in English Literature in the early 11th century even. Naan or Nan is adapted in most Arabic countries and is more prevalent in Iran.
Naan or Nan is a flattened dough pressed on both sides and baked in the oven. The recipes vary from area to area and culture to culture. The best part of it is that it can be prepared in many methods and variations too.

Naan or Nan

Naan or Nan  Ingredient:
Maida - 2 cup
Warm milk - 1/2 cup
Curd - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Cooking soda - 2 pinch
Baking powder - 3/4 tsp
Butter - 2 tsp

Naan or Nan Method:
Mix maida, cooking soda, baking powder and salt well. Heat the milk slightly.

 Add milk, sugar and curd to the maida flour and knead in to a smooth dough. Cover this dough with wet cloth and keep aside for two hours, Then take lemon size ball and make elongated round shape using rolling pin.

 Heat a non stick pan and cook both sides of the Naan well. Put some butter over the naan and serve hot with rajma curry or paneer sidedishes .
